I can’t quite remember why – perhaps I was longing for summer – but the other day, I started thinking about ladybirds. And then I realised we have LOTS of ladybird gifts here at Kiddymania, so I thought I’d share a few.
How beautiful is this Frilly Lily Ladybird Fancy Dress? It has wings on the back and goes beautifully with the Frilly Lily Ladybird headress.
If this one is just too fancy (it is pretty fancy), then how about the Lucy Locket Infant Ladybird Fancy Dress? Adorable.

If you ever had any Anne Geddes pictures you probably won’t be surprised by this latest bit of research, but apparently looking at pictures of babies wearing hats can positively affect your health and help you make better health decisions.
No, this isn’t an early April Fool, it’s the result of real research: randomised controlled trials to show that people can use positive thoughts and self-affirmation to help them make and sustain behaviour change.
So what do you think? Does looking at Cat Baby there make you feel better? She really is enormously cute…

My 7-year-old is currently obsessed with Horrible Histories, both the (admittedly hilarious) TV show and the books. This is great news for me and his teacher since it means he’s keen to learn and this term’s subject is Vikings.
This Viking fancy dress outfit is completely wonderful. The tunic is finished with a chest emblem, the sleeves have faux fur gauntlets and the trousers have a mock effect furry boot feature. Plus it comes complete with a fur trimmed cape and a soft Viking hat with horns and a dagger.
I know if he’s sees it, he’ll insist I buy it immediately. Literally.

It’s that strange limbo-time between Christmas and New Year. It’s odd, don’t you think? Sort of like a week of Sundays when no one knows what day it is or, as my dad used to say, “Is today something?”
So here’s a unicorn fancy dress costume to brighten your day. (I typed ‘brighten your dad’ first – you could certainly try that…). You can actually remove the horn and mane to turn it into a plain old horse costume, but why on earth would anyone want to do that?!

It’s that time of year – nativities and school Christmas plays. I love it.
Both of my children are “performing” this year, but, luckily for me, the schools are providing the costumes. I say “luckily” because I am rubbish at costumes.
But if you’re not so lucky, how about this gorgeous donkey costume (your child would need to be playing a donkey, obviously, but I kind of assume both of mine will be…)? With the donkey face on the pull up hood and with elasticated ankles and wrists this fab outfit will fit children from 3 to 5 years.

I love this idea! If you have a fancy dress loving child, what could be better than a matching costume for their doll?
This pretty fairy set includes a pink layered skirt trimmed with silver ribbon, sequinned pink wings and a pretty headband with bow trim, and matches the child size Candy floss fairy set.

I absolutely love this costume. Great for boys, girls, babies and PERFECT for Harry Potter fans of all ages.
Easy to wear with handy side slits – so it could well work for a child who’s not keen on getting dressed up – and made from soft brushed suedette and textured feather effect fur. The wonderful owl hat finishes it all off beautifully.
It’s available in 2 sizes 18 months to 8 years and I really wish it was available for adults too.

We’re sharing our favourite Halloween costumes and this pumpkin cape is our pick for babies.
Often babies aren’t overly keen on putting on a fancy costume, so this outfit is perfect. It features loads of satin applique detail including a very mischievous pumpkin face! Adorable.

As Halloween approaches (on a broomstick, I imagine), we decided to share our favourite dressing-up outfits for girls, boys and babies. (See our favourite girls costume.)
This Monster costume is just my kind of thing because I’m a scaredycat and I don’t like to see children in properly scary costumes. This brown furry monster hooded cape with horns, ears and gold shiny spikes fits the Halloween bill, but it’s also really cute. Available in 2 sizes 18 months to 8 years.
Our favourite costume for babies is coming up next week.

The shops are full of scary masks and buckets of sweets and even my husband made pumpkin risotto last night, so I thought I’d share my favourite Halloween costumes for boys, girls and babies. First up: girls.
This pretty Midnight Fairy Dressing up Set includes a soft layered net skirt, and a beautiful set of fairy wings presented on a hanger style card. It’s a bit more unusual than a witch’s outfit and the wings are just stunning. Available in 3+ years.
Boys and babies coming soon.
