With the Queens Jubilee just around the corner we were so excited when we found Jack the Sockette! In the colours of the Union Jack, Jack is a long knitted glove puppet with a squeaker in his mouth… and is guaranteed to be a hit at any Jubilee parties.
Puppets are so great for children and we’ve got a wonderful selection. The Tellatale Snow White & the Seven Dwarves puppet is perfect for storytelling. I also love this Baby Bird of Paradise hand puppet from The Puppet Company.

Manhattan Toys’ wooden baby activity toy – Orbit Baby Beads – are the perfect toy to keep in your baby bag for those times when you’re waiting around and the baby needs to be entertained.
Non-toxic, made from replenishable rubberwood and strung together with an elasticated cord, they can be manipulated into an endless number of configurations. Brightly coloured, wonderfully tactile and easy to hold, it’s no surprise babies love them so much, is it?

A playmat is one of the things I wouldn’t have considered essential before I had children, but ended up finding incredibly useful.
This mat has many features for your baby to discover, including flaps with reverse print graphics, fun textures and crinkle paper, plus a removable mirror, teethers and a pocket with a star shaped ring attached.
It’s like a portable entertainment centre for a baby.

Oh how I loved my Space Hopper. I hardly ever remember it being inflated – what I remember instead is being at petrol stations and asking my dad to inflate it… But it’s still a classic kids’ toy, isn’t it?
Well, Happy Hopperz® have taken the original concept of the Space Hopper ball and reinvented the design for the toddler market.
At only 12 inches off the ground and with four firmly planted feet, Happy Hopperz® are perfect for encouraging early coordination and development.

My children are really interested in telling the time. They’re constantly asking me what time it is, trying to work out how much after eleven “a quarter to twelve” is, and counting down the hours until something they’re looking forward to.
I’ve been meaning to get them a teaching aid for this for a while now, and I love the look of this Tell the Time wallhanging by Fiesta Crafts.

I would have been all over these dolls when I was little and I’m pretty sure my children will love them too.
If you don’t like the look of Audralina here, there are plenty of others to choose from.
Made by Manhattan Toy, they’re cute, unusual, and full of personality. Hide them in the bushes at the bottom of your garden.

I read recently that nowhere in the Humpty Dumpty rhyme is it mentioned that Humpty Dumpty is an egg. Obvious when you think about it, but it had never occurred to me before! Even so, Humpty is always represented as an egg and look how cute this Humpty finger puppet is.
These puppets are great for enhancing interaction in storytelling and keeping children’s imaginations alive.

This gorgeous new Twinkle Twinkle finger puppet has inspired us to share a few of our favourite star products with you.
This Beauty and the Bib organic blue bib is made from three soft layers of the purest baby blue organic cotton, contrasted with navy blue star stitching.
Since the sun is shining, what do you think of this Mitty James Girls Classic Swimsuit with appliqued star? It’s available in sizes from 18 months to 12 years and looks great with the red/white stripe or plain navy towelling products.

I know quite a few children who would absolutely love this doll.
Not only is she cute and soft, but she comes with a few extra labels/tags that many children seem to love and her dress is removable (she’s wearing matching pants), enhancing motor skills and patience.
(She actually appeals to me more for her big blue eyes and hilarious hair.)

My boys are rather interested in pigs at the moment. Pigs and frogs. Can you guess which film we’ve been to see and they can’t stop talking (and singing) about?
I know we’ve featured Wheelybugs lots of times, but they’re just wonderful, and I hadn’t seen the pig version until today – isn’t it great?
Wheelybugs go backwards, forwards, sideways, round and round … they can be ridden, pushed, pulled, kissed and cuddled! Designed to offer hours of robust fun, they help to promote self-confidence, spatial awareness and gross motor skills.
All in the shape of a pig. Excellent.
