I’m trying to get excited about the Olympics, I really am. I appreciate that the Games are highly unlikely to be held in the UK again during my lifetime, but… I’m just not that interested in sport.
My children, however, are pretty interested and that’s fine. I’m slightly concerned that means I’ll be forced to watch all manner of random events, but who know, I’m might end up enjoying it.
One thing I am sure of is that there’s going to be a surge in sporting interest during and after the games and I love these tiny trainers by Inch Blue. Patriotic colours too.

This gorgeous new Twinkle Twinkle finger puppet has inspired us to share a few of our favourite star products with you.
This Beauty and the Bib organic blue bib is made from three soft layers of the purest baby blue organic cotton, contrasted with navy blue star stitching.
Since the sun is shining, what do you think of this Mitty James Girls Classic Swimsuit with appliqued star? It’s available in sizes from 18 months to 12 years and looks great with the red/white stripe or plain navy towelling products.

We’ve already raved about the gorgeous Wallaboo changing bags, so we thought we’d introduce you to the equally scrumptious Wallaboo baby boots.
Lovely and warm, they are ideal for out and about as well as for use in the home and they feature an adjustable Velcro ankle tab to allow room for growth.
And, like the baby bags, they come in a range of colours so delicious you’ll be spoiled for choice.

My 3-year-old fell asleep in his buggy yesterday for the first time in ages. He’s very unlike his older brother who used to fall asleep almost instantly in any moving vehicle – buggy, car, even once on the bus (I had to carry him home from our stop).
One of these Travel Baby Sleeping Bags would have been highly useful back then, since I was forever transferring him from car/buggy to bed.
The arms can be removed with poppers and the L shape zip also enables easy nappy changes. Perfect.

My younger son has had a security blanket – he calls it a ‘bang bang’ – since he was born (literally, I took it to hospital with me).
Whenever we go anywhere we always make sure we have it with us – it’s the one thing that’s irreplaceable. So imagine my horror last week when not only did my husband leave Joe’s blanket at preschool, he left it there on a Friday – a blanket-free weekend!
I was so annoyed with myself that I hadn’t got two. I’ve thought of it so many times over the past couple of years, but just didn’t get around to it.
As it turned out, my son wasn’t actually that bothered and he slept fine. He was thrilled to get it back though, so he obviously isn’t ready to give it up altogether yet.

Yes, our unseasonable ladybird obsession continues (but summer IS coming… eventually) with one of our very favourite toys – the Wheelybug Ride On Ladybird.
Wheelybugs go backwards, forwards, sideways, round and round; they can be ridden, pushed, pulled, kissed and cuddled! Plus they promote gross motor skills and balance.
The Groovy Girls Lana Ladybird doll is also pretty fabulous, as is the Doudou and Compagnie ladybird puppet. Spotalicious.

How adorable are these Mocc Ons?
Mocc Ons are moccasin style slipper socks that ensure babies and toddlers have warm and comfortable feet throughout the winter season.
My feet are freezing right now, so they’re looking pretty tempting to me, never mind my toddler.
They’ve also inspired me to look at a couple of other zebra items. I love these Noo Baby Bandana Bibs and who could resist this adorable Walking Zebra finger puppet?

We’re not big on Valentine’s Day in this house – our wedding anniversary is the 12th, so we generally celebrate that instead – but they must have been talking about it at school, because my 7-year-old has started asking me questions.
Actually, it may not even be school – he’s seen the displays in the local shops and even tried to pick a card out for me yesterday. I’m not really keen on children being introduced to it so early – I know that in America (and I know this from TV, so it’s possibly it’s not strictly true), they exchange Valentine’s Day cards even in primary school. What do you think? Should children celebrate Valentine’s Day?
