I’m trying to get excited about the Olympics, I really am. I appreciate that the Games are highly unlikely to be held in the UK again during my lifetime, but… I’m just not that interested in sport.
My children, however, are pretty interested and that’s fine. I’m slightly concerned that means I’ll be forced to watch all manner of random events, but who know, I’m might end up enjoying it.
One thing I am sure of is that there’s going to be a surge in sporting interest during and after the games and I love these tiny trainers by Inch Blue. Patriotic colours too.

With the Queens Jubilee just around the corner we were so excited when we found Jack the Sockette! In the colours of the Union Jack, Jack is a long knitted glove puppet with a squeaker in his mouth… and is guaranteed to be a hit at any Jubilee parties.
Puppets are so great for children and we’ve got a wonderful selection. The Tellatale Snow White & the Seven Dwarves puppet is perfect for storytelling. I also love this Baby Bird of Paradise hand puppet from The Puppet Company.

Manhattan Toys’ wooden baby activity toy – Orbit Baby Beads – are the perfect toy to keep in your baby bag for those times when you’re waiting around and the baby needs to be entertained.
Non-toxic, made from replenishable rubberwood and strung together with an elasticated cord, they can be manipulated into an endless number of configurations. Brightly coloured, wonderfully tactile and easy to hold, it’s no surprise babies love them so much, is it?

It’s the time of year when we start thinking about a summer holiday. I know everybody else has most likely already booked theirs, but it always seems to take us a while to sort ourselves out.
What I have started doing instead of looking through brochures or ticking boxes on the internet, is looking for bits and bobs for the beach for my two sons. That way if we don’t make it abroad, we’ll still be ready to head off to the nearest British coastal resort at the slightest hint of sun.
These hooded beach tops by Mitty James are wonderful. Available in a wide range of colours, they’re perfect for wearing over swimwear, on and off the beach, to keep the chill out on cooler days and to shade from the sun on warmer days.

A playmat is one of the things I wouldn’t have considered essential before I had children, but ended up finding incredibly useful.
This mat has many features for your baby to discover, including flaps with reverse print graphics, fun textures and crinkle paper, plus a removable mirror, teethers and a pocket with a star shaped ring attached.
It’s like a portable entertainment centre for a baby.

Oh how I loved my Space Hopper. I hardly ever remember it being inflated – what I remember instead is being at petrol stations and asking my dad to inflate it… But it’s still a classic kids’ toy, isn’t it?
Well, Happy Hopperz® have taken the original concept of the Space Hopper ball and reinvented the design for the toddler market.
At only 12 inches off the ground and with four firmly planted feet, Happy Hopperz® are perfect for encouraging early coordination and development.

My children are really interested in telling the time. They’re constantly asking me what time it is, trying to work out how much after eleven “a quarter to twelve” is, and counting down the hours until something they’re looking forward to.
I’ve been meaning to get them a teaching aid for this for a while now, and I love the look of this Tell the Time wallhanging by Fiesta Crafts.

This photo reminds me of the Queen’s silver jubilee in 1977. My sister and I wore sailor dresses and hand-knitted jumpers – with crowns on – to more than one street party. I may wear the same again this year (I won’t).
This gorgeous organic dress comes to you from Bamboo Baby, is 100% organic Cotton, and is our favourite for the Summer this year. Isn’t it adorable?

Contrary to popular belief, dolls aren’t just for girls. After all, there’s no reason why girls should have all the fun. If you are looking for a doll for a boy, there are some adorable choices. You just need to look a bit further than the pink and pastel colours.
Which doll for a boy will your little one like best? The footballer or the fireman? Tom or the pirate? You can also buy a doll clothes set separately. The four outfits are designed to suit the 37cm (14”) rag dolls.
The Fair Trade rag dolls are made in Sri Lanka. The doll clothes are handmade from natural fabrics. They are easily removable even for little fingers. The doll bodies can also be sponge washed. Light and cuddle, these rag dolls are ideal for a new baby gift or a young child.
Does your son play with a doll? Which was his favourite? Would you consider giving a doll for a boy new baby gift?
